Greetings from RGO
2018 was our 10th year and a very challenging year. What carried us through the year was seeing the fruits of our hard work over the last 10 years. The one thing we don’t take for granted is the support we continuously receive from our “Angels”. We would have not changed as many lives as we have thus far without your emotional, financial support and guidance.
The next 10 years for us will be even more exciting. RGO’s Big Dream is to own a hub, a home where young people’s talent and skills will be developed.
We WILL break ground within the next 10 years and the hub will be fully operational when we celebrate 20 years of RGO. There’s still a lot of work to be done for us to realize this bold dream which is why our theme for 2019 is “CHANGE 10.1”.
For us to move 10 steps forward in the next year we need to change; how we’ve been doing things in the past and consciously find ways to improve and innovate our internal processes, interaction with giants, angels and parents. The process of change will be painful but the fruits we will harvest from it will be in abundance.
The following are some changes already implemented this year. Kgomotso Khosa, the founder of RGO will be taking on a more strategic and advisory role. Itumeleng Segage will take over all operational functions from Kgomotso.
Our current database of giants mainly consists of giants in Grade 11 and tertiary institutions. It is for this reason that we are currently in a drive to recruit about 40 new giants who are currently in Grade 5 and 8. Our older giants will be taking on mentorship roles to our new recruits.
We thank all those who have been with us in the last 10 years and we ask that you join us again as we embark on yet another 10 years of changing lives. To giants and mentors, use change as a catalyst for your growth this year. Dates and topics for 2019 meetings are listed here.
